ISAAC BISILKI, GIJ ALUMNUS, WINS DON BARTHOLOMEW AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC RELATIONS RESEARCH

An alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Mr. Isaac Bisilki, has been announced as winner of the prestigious Don Bartholomew Award for Excellence in Public Relations Research. The Communication and Media Studies doctoral student at the University of Oregon was recognized at the 2022 IPR Distinguished Lecture and Awards Dinner in New York City on December 1, 2022.

Mr. Bisilki will receive a $5,440 stipend and an 8-week public relations research internship at Ketchum during the summer of 2022. He will work an average of a 40-hour week with Ketchum Global Research & Analytics on a wide array of clients and challenges – ranging from measurement-focused work to strategic positioning research – with exposure to all areas of the full-service PR agency and its resources.

At the end of this experience, Mr. Bisilki will produce a research paper intended for practitioners – not an academic paper, though appropriately rigorous. He will receive a $2,500 grant for the research paper, after it has been accepted for publication by IPR.

The Don Bartholomew Award for Excellence in Public Relations Research is sponsored by Ketchum Global Research and Analytics in cooperation with the Institute of Public Relations of the United States.

Mr. Isaac Bisilki graduated from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Public Relations Option).
