What it is about
In keeping with its mission to remain a highly academic and professional communication training institution serving the needs of students, industry and society, the Ghana Institute of Journalism (G.I.J.) has established a Business Development Unit to coordinate consultancies, continuing education and other income generating activities related or relevant to education and training.
The Institute is looking to develop its business engagement through:
- workforce development in communication
- skills training
- knowledge exchange and transfer
- research and consultancy
- innovation and development
How we can do this
The Marketing and Business Development Unit will work across all areas within the Institute and lead developments in income generation through academic enterprise, research and knowledge exchange.
This Unit is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing new business opportunities across the Institute. Such opportunities may include, but not limited to educational programmes for workforce development in sectors relevant to the Institute; knowledge transfer and exchange partnerships; commissioned research projects, commercialisation of resources, equipment and/ knowledge capital.
Message from the team
We have a unique opportunity to link theory with practice through partnerships which will inure to the benefit of industry whilst also generating income for the Institute. This can only be a win-win!
