HOLLARD GHANA PARTNERS GIJ ON STREETWISE FINANCE MENTORSHIP INITIATIVE PROGRAM

Hollard Ghana in partnership with GIJ rolled out the maiden Streetwise Finance initiative mentorship program at the GIJ’s North Dzorwulu Campus.

The event comes on the back of a memorandum of understanding that was signed between the two institutions to commence its Hollard X Academia initiative to empower students for the future.

The programme provided a platform for students to be trained and mentored in financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Rhodalene Amartey, Dean of Students of the Institute in her welcome address eulogized Hollard Ghana for the initiative and urged participants to look forward to an event that will redefine their financial journey.

In a roundtable discussion, four panelists, Mrs. Dorothy Salifu (Head of Operations), Alexander Osei Mensah (General Manger, Operations), Richard Ahulu (Chief Financial Officer) and Mr. Noel Nutsugah (Lecturer, GIJ) were engaged during the first session to share their knowledge on savings, managing debt, investment plans, entrepreneurship and looking out for financial frauds.

Group Chief Financial Officer of Hollard Ghana, Richard Ahulu, implored participants to commercialize their skills before graduating from school. He urged them to be open minded, track their expenses and also have an entrepreneurial mindset to attain financial freedom.

The General Manger in Charge of  Operations, Alexander Osei Mensah, also entreated students to get financial tips on the internet and books. “You can also speak to people who are financial experts to guide you to make sound decisions regarding your finances” he said.

In between the sessions, there were breakout periods where students were grouped as they had interactions with experienced executives from the Hollard Group on financial planning, preparing for the working world, choosing a career path and how to engage and work with a mentor.

The event was graced with the presence of Mr. Daniel Boi Addo (Managing Director, Hollard Group), Mr. Federick Lamptey (General Manager, Business Development), and Nashiru Iddrisu ( Managing Director, Hollard Life), Mrs. Benedicta Nyame (Assistant Registrar, Marketing and Business Development at GIJ)  among others.
