As part of efforts to foster a vibrant research culture in GIJ, The Directorate of Research, Innovations and Development (DRID) has scheduled a series of webinars, workshops and seminars to equip its faculty with the needed skills and information relevant for academic publication. The first of these was a webinar held on Friday 29th January 2021. It was on the theme: Strategies for Writing Scholarly Publications, which was facilitated by Dr. Etse Sikanku, the Director of DRID.
Being the first of its kind, the highly interactive session was massively patronised by faculty members, who saw the session as highly informative. Some of the topics discussed included: Strategies to get published; accessing a reservoir of publication; and how to handle criticisms from editors for resubmission.
The Directorate has the next webinar scheduled for 19th February, 2021. It is expected that subsequent ones will receive better response and add up to the knowledge acquired to help produce the desired results of high publication rate at GIJ.
