GIJ ORGANIZES SEMINAR ON QUALITATIVE DATA PROCESSES AND ANALYSIS

The Directorate of Research Innovation and Development (DRID) of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) is organizing a-two-week research seminar on writing scholarly articles dubbed: “Qualitative Data Processes and Analysis.”

This workshop is scheduled to come off on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 12noon, and the following week Friday, May 21, 2021 same time.

Week one will be a two session zoom meeting, which shall take participants through: Qualitative Research Design, Qualitative data gathering processes and tools, Ethical Issues in Validation of Data Gathering, and Validation of Qualitative Data.

 

Week two will however, be a “practical face-to-face” sessions to teach participants; Qualitative Data Analysis using Thematic Analysis (Manual in Excel) and Qualitative Data Analysis using Thematic Analysis (Computer Aided with ASTLAS Ti)

According to the Director of DRID, Dr. Etse Sikanku, “this qualitative workshop is in line with GIJs broad vision of revamping the research culture at the institution.”

Meanwhile, guest speaker for the programme is Dr. Ginn Assibey Bonsu, Lecturer in Communication Design at the Kwame Nkrumah University of science and Technology (KNUST)

Dr. Sikanku therefore urged “all students and members of academia to seize the opportunity to benefit from the initiative.”
