Dr. Godwin Etse Sikanku

Senior Lecturer

Dr. Godwin Etse Sikanku is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Directorate for Research, Innovations & Development (DRID) at the Ghana Institute of Journalism. 

He is a national and international scholar with both practical and professional research experience. He has published in reputed journalism such as the International Journal for Communication and Research, the Journal of Black Studies and the Legon Journal for International Affairs and Diplomacy.

He has undertaken consultancy projects in the areas of communication, media strategy, product testing, focus groups, surveys and content analysis for organization, Government of Ghana, Youth Bridge Africa, Now Available Africa, Knustsford University, Duffuor University etc. he is the host of “World Affairs” on Class 91.3 fm.

Dr. Sikanku has made several national and international presentations on issues in media and communications at conferences such as the International Communication Association and National Communication Association. He received the 2011 outstanding doctoral student award for research from the school of Journalism and Communication at the University of Iowa.His main area of teaching and consultancy practice is in research methods, quantitative and qualitative research of communication materials, advertising and public policy communication.
