Mr. Derek Onomah is an Assistant Lecturer with the Faculty of Advertising, Public Relations, and Integrated Marketing. His first degree is from the University of Ghana where he studied English, Philosophy, and Theatre Arts. 

He holds an MPhil in Communication from the University of Education, Winneba. He has gained wide experience in higher education by functioning in various roles as Lecturer, Head of Department, Registrar, and Business Development Manager.

Derek has long been involved in identifying ways to advance graduate and undergraduate students’ educational experiences and enjoys using unorthodox means of instructing that enhances participation and understanding. He consults for companies in the areas of social media management, public relations, and consumer research.

His teaching areas are in the field of Public Relations and Advertising. Derek’s broad research interests lie in the arena of public relations evaluation and digital technology in marketing communications; he also has a lingering interest in gender studies, Africanisation, and consumerism. He serves as a reviewer for the International Journal of Interactive Mobile Technologies.
