DEPUTY RECTOR PAYS FAMILIARISATION VISITS TO SOME OFFICES

The Deputy Rector of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah has paid familiarization visits to the various departments in the Institute. The purpose of the visits was to formally introduce himself to the staff as the new Deputy Rector.


The Deputy Rector, who was accompanied by the Assistant Registrars of the Public Affairs Unit, Mr. Daniel Machator and Ms. Brigitte Ampah, and Senior Administrative Assistant, Ms. Marian Maamle Quaynor, Office of the Deputy Rector, first point of call was the Estate Unit where they were received by the Assistant Registrar, Ms. Vonnette Ofosu-Asante in the company of the Principal Technical Assistant, Mr. Inusah Yakubu . Ms. Ofosu-Asante said they were delighted to receive the Deputy Rector and said they would work hard to assist him in the discharge of his duties.


The next stop was at the Security and Drivers Section where the drivers, security men and cleaners were elated to receive the Deputy Rector. They pledged their unflinching support to him, so that together, the Institute will move forward. Responding, the Deputy Rector thanked them for their assurance to support him in his new role in management.


At the Academic Affairs Unit, the Assistant Registrar, Mrs. Rosemary Amenuvor, congratulated the Deputy Rector on his appointment and added that the Unit was happy to receive him since the Deputy Rector is in charge of academic matters in the Institute. Prof. Opoku Mensah pledged to work closely with the Unit to achieve the needed results.


Other Units that the delegation visited were the Quality Assurance, Marketing and Business Development Unit, Library, Public Affairs Unit, IT, Audit Unit, Procurement Unit, Stores, Accounts Unit, E-Learning Library and the Graduate School.


Prof. Opoku Mensah was grateful for the warm reception accorded him and the delegation during the visit and pledged to address the concerns raised at all the Units.
